NYX Blush Haul

Saturday, 13 October 2012

When I was getting ready to go on holiday I realised that I didn't really have any individually packaged blushes - because most of the ones I use are from my MAC palette.  So I had looked at some when I was in duty free, but none of the high-end ones really truly caught my eye.  And on my list of things to try were the NYX blushes.  I already own two of their mega-shine lipglosses and a jumbo eye pencil, all of which are amazing quality, and I'd heard really good things about their blushes.  I'm definitely not disappointed with the ones I chose!

The three colours I chose are Terracotta (on the recommendation from Essiebutton's favourite Autumn Blushes), Spice and Taupe.  I plan to use taupe as a contour.  I usually use my Chanel Soleil de Tan or Benefit Hoola bronzer as contour - but I don't really like to use bronzer in Winter, because I think it just looks really unnatural.

MAC Powder Blush - Frankly Scarlet

Sunday, 23 September 2012

Hello Lovelies!

I own one of the MAC 6 blush palettes so I thought I would go through all the colours I have, similar to how I'm eventually going to work through my two MAC 15 eyeshadow palettes. I only have 5 blushes from MAC at the moment, but really that's only because I can't decide which colour I want to be my 6th!

Pro Palette Refill - £14.50

Frankly Scarlet is one of my favourite blushes. It looks a little bit scary in the pan as it's bright red. A little bit of this goes a long way as it's highly pigmented, so a bonus is that it'll last for ages!

Benefit Thrrrob Box Powder Blush

Sunday, 15 July 2012

Hello Lovelies!

I thought I'd do a quick little review of the first and only Benefit boxed blush I purchased.  I'll be honest and say it didn't amaze me so much that I thought I HAD to have another colour, but it may just be the one that I chose isn't as good as others.
What attracted me to this blush was the firstly the box, I love the design of the packaging - and I didn't own a pale dusty pink blush either! The powder has a very fine shimmer through it, which you can't even see when you apply it to your cheeks.  I'm not a fan of overly shimmery blushes myself anyway; but why have it in a blush if you can't see it all?  I like the colour when it's applied, but as there isn't a lot of colour pay off you need to use a LOT of it.  Also I'm not a fan of the brush because it just seems to absorb so much of the product.

Illamasqua Cream Blush - Lies

Saturday, 7 July 2012

Hello my lovelies!

I bought this a couple of months ago, and I've been loving it!  It's from the Illamasqua Cream Blush line, but it's more of a cream highlighter.  If you look at it on the Illamasqua website here, you can kind of see that's what it's intended for, as I think it's far too pale and there isn't a genuine colour pay off with it either!  As it was a highlighter I wanted I'm happy with this product.
For all photo's I took one with and without flash.
