Essie Sand Tropez

I was recently on the hunt for a new nude nail colour, and I immediately thought of Essie.  Nude nails are my favourite, and along with red/berry/pink nails tend to be all I'll wear.  I tried a blue this week and I can't wait to get it off, it's just not me - although it did match my dress!  And I probably wont do a post on it because I wasn't impressed with the formula*. So I tend to think I'm a bit of a nude nail expert, being able to pick up on the undertones pretty easily.  Pink and flat nude undertones tend to be my favourites, so this time I went a little out of the box and picked a grey/putty toned nude which I discovered when I got home is a FANTASTIC dupe for Chanel Frenzy (which I happened to have on my toes at the time).

As with all Essie nail polishes two coats and you're good to go (well of the ones I have tried any way).  And excuse my nails, I was in dyer need of a proper manicure to sort out my cuticles but I couldn't wait to put it on.  This will be one I reach for pretty often as nudes are my favourite.  It elongates my stubby fingers and looks more elegant than other polish colours.  Do you have any favourite nudes? I love the look of Bare Bones from Revlon, which is more of a flat nude undertone that's quite light!

*The blue one I used was Maybelline Color Show in 180 Shock Wave.  The drying time was good, but it chipped within a few hours on me and I'm never up to anything very hands on that would make sense - so not impressed at all.  And that was with a top coat!

  1. A lovely nude :) I also tried to branch out this week with Barry M's Greenberry - it's hideous! I'm definitely more about the muted colours, I need a lifetime supply of Essie's Fiji!
