Over the past couple of days, I've been doing some soul searching and one of the things I realised was that, this year I wanted to stop impulse buying beauty products. I think the epiphany came when I realised I was struggling to close my beauty drawer even though I'd already removed my lipsticks, skincare and nail varnishes to other storage. ENOUGH. That's right I said it, enough, I can't really continue to use blogging about mainly beauty products as an excuse to waste my money on things that I don't need or use - I am not a makeup artist, therefore the amount of makeup I have is out of order - even I will admit that. There are however things that I really want to try and that I feel I would benefit from having in my beauty collection - mainly skin care, so a complete spending ban is not for me. And, don't get me wrong, if I run out of my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer or something, I will repurchase - the aim of the game is to not spend on things I don't need. I am very happy with that concealer so why waste money and try a new one and then end up repurchasing it again anyway? I'm the same with foundation, I have a high end and high street one I like, so no need to buy more unnecessarily - and I have a LOT to finish up. On the other hand I don't need any more lipsticks or eyeshadows, the amount I have is truly ludicrous. Are you with me? Okay, so here is my list - the only NEW beauty buys I will have all year - anything else (probably makeup, as there will be plenty of launches) that pops up can wait until Santa comes around again!
Alpha-H Liquid Gold
Dermalogica Overnight Clearing Gel
Dermalogica Resurfacing Cleanser
Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant (similar to the Clarins gentle exfoliator in my 2012 favs)
Liz Earle Brightening Toner (I will also repurchase Cleanse and Polish)
Aesop Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant serum (not cheaper than Advanced Night repair, but bigger = more value for money)
This Works Perfect Legs Skin miracle
Yes! Nurse hand cream (seems rude not to!)
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector (near impossible to get but I'm not giving up! dupes anyone?)
Hybrids Skin Perfecting Primer - Blemish & Shine Control (Murad)
MAC lingering brow pencil/Suqqu Brow pen (I'm undecided on which - no doubt I'll end up with both)
A Tangle Teaser

I've been after Liquid Gold for ages too, I hope it makes as much of a difference to my skin that it does to other peoples!
ReplyDeleteI know, I hope it does to mine. My skin is terrible! xx
