Last night I was lucky enough to attend the Glasgow launch of Benefit's newest product.  There's already quite a buzz about it and I think the main reason is that it's promising to fix a lot of girls beauty bug bear - under eye concealer creasing!  I don't know about you, but no matter what underneath my eyes my concealer always creases - even if I use primer and powder (I always powder!).

The packaging is true to regular Benefit Style - it's gorgeous!  Sleek silver tubes with hot pink lace design and purple writing.  Very boudoir, ooh lala!  It definitely wouldn't look out of place sitting on my dressing table.  Something that I really liked though is that the boxes are different tones, corresponding with the shade of concealer inside - I just love that little attention to detail.  I'm a sucker for things like that!

Now on to the actual product!  This concealer is ridiculously smooth and creamy, and that's due to the hydrating ring around the concealing core - it feels like silk! The hydrating ring contains vitamin E - a hyrdation dream!  And apple seed extract which brightens, nourishes and protects.  It can all start to sound a little complicated when you break it down but all you need to know is that - it will keep your under eye area (or anywhere you decide to use it as it is a multi-purpose concealer) lovely and moisturised while concealing and brightening.  When I first seen it, it really reminded me of the lipstick/balm hybrids that you can buy; lipstick in the middle and balm on the outside which promises strong pigment along with gorgeous hydration - very much like this little concealer!

It comes in three shades so there should be something to suit most skin tones.  I got colour matched by Claire, my shade is 01 light (would you believe given my pasty complexion?!) and had it applied in the "Kardashian" V- style under my eyes and over my (non-existent) cheek bones and it completely lifted and brightened my face.

Benefit's head Makeup Artist Lisa gave a little presentation on the Fake Up and told us it was one of the main products used for the perfectly sculpted dewy glowing skin at the Matthew Williamson show at London Fashion week - very in this season!  And as I'm now armed with my very own 3 shades (thank you Benefit, you sure know how to spoil us!),  I can use the darker ones for contouring.

I had Fake Up on for a couple of hours at the event, then about another two afterwards and would you believe...  Dun, dun, DUN - there was no creasing underneath my eyes - and I hadn't even powdered it into place.  I couldn't believe it!  Fake Up will be available nationwide on March 30th and will retail for £18.50.
