Hello Lovelies!

Now, I'm sure every beauty blogger/makeup fanatic and their dog has heard of NARS Albatross highlighter. And as it has been part of he NARS makeup collection for, like, ever, there will be an abundance of blog posts about it. But, one more cant hurt, right?

This was my first ever "proper" highlighter. Before that I completely stayed away from all forms of highlighting and attempts to look "glowy" as I have greasy skin and was obsessed with looking matte. Obviously I have since realised that glowing and greasy are a different thing, so yay me!

If you have never had the opportunity to swatch this product I highly recommend you do, it is literally one of the most beautiful highlighters I've ever seen. Even though it looks super scary and white in the pan it comes out as a sheer, iridescent, golden glow. Sounds amazing right? Well it kind of is, and I say kind of because I have a love/hate relationship with this.

Sometimes it can give the most gorgeous golden highlight and your skin looks like the best skin in the world, and other times it can look like you got in a fight with Tinkerbell and lost.

I don't know how it can be so variable but sometimes after I use this I need to take off my makeup and start again because I just feel like it makes my skin so obviously unnatural. An I wouldn't say that it's because sometimes I go overboard because I definitely don't, but I think it has something to do with the foundation I use. I'm not 100% sure but I think my MAC foundations are the offenders here.

Also I would say this highlighter can only be used on the cheek bones and the teensiest bit on the cupids bow, because it looks awful as an all over highlight; i.e. avoid nose, chin and forehead, lest you end up looking like you dipped your face in moon dust.

So to conclude! Beautiful, a little goes a long way and I hate the price. I suppose you could've saved a lot of your life if you skipped to this paragraph, but oh well, c'est la vie!
