Topshop Lips in Wicked

Sunday 28 October 2012

Topshop Lips in Wicked is one of two new colours from the "Dark Side Of Nude" collection.  This collection also features another lipstick in the shade "Fawn"; Mascara in "Onyx"; two eyeshadow trios in "Prism" and "Atmosphere" (which I LOVE); and three nail varnishes in "Granite", a beautiful deep grey, "Stardust" a golden glitter and "Panther" a black and silver glitter mix.  This collection is differently packaged from the usual Topshop makeup.  Usually, it's in the white packaging with either black polka dots, or stripes.  But Topshop as stepped up the classiness with this collection, with everything packaged in matte black with shiny black graphic accents.

Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash

Saturday 27 October 2012

This is one of my favourite face washes/cleansers that I have ever tried.  It's called a face wash but it comes under Origins "Cleansers" category, and I have to agree that it is most definitely more than just your typical face wash.  Checks and Balances is designs especially for combination skin - which is what I have.  Although, before I tried it I wasn't convinced that a cleanser could both "seek out oil, soaks it up and keeps it well-in check" and "balances and protects dry prone zones" as the product description describes.  Rubbish I thought at first!  Every oil controlling product I had ever tried before had burned, completely stripped my skin to the point of peeling or just simply not worked.  But this is honestly amazing!

100 Follower Giveaway! *Ended*

Friday 26 October 2012

Hello Lovelies!

I recently reached 100 followers, or "Lovelies" as I like to call you, through GFC, and I wanted to do a small giveaway just to say thank you for reading and subscribing to my blog.  It's nice to know that people like to read my ramblings, because that's exactly what they are!

Deborah Lippmann - Waking Up In Vegas

Thursday 25 October 2012

I've had this nail varnish for about a year.  It just got put away in my nail varnish box and forgotten about, but it's not really a summery colour anyway!  So the first positive thing I can probably say about it is that it stays in good condition for a really long time.  Most nail varnishes dry out pretty quickly after they have already been used - but this hasn't!

It's a lovely understated putty grey colour, which is a perfect choice if you're struggling to decide what colour you should paint your nails (this happens to me a lot!).  It basically goes with everything so it's always good to have colours like that in your nail varnish collection.  It's handy if you have a lot of things on close together and you don't have time to constantly change your nail colour, but this one would definitely need touch ups!

Soft Autumn Berries

Tuesday 23 October 2012

I was just playing around with some of my makeup (as per usual), and I came up with this! I think it's perfect for Autumn.  It's warm, and uses berry tones without being over the top.  This is definitely a toned down look what with all of this seasons trends.  It's great if you're a bit scared of dark berry lips! I can see me doing this again throughout this season.  Cranberry is one of my all time favourite MAC eyeshadows, it's just such a gorgeous colour!  And it can be used with a darker colour like Sketch or Beauty Marked for a more dramatic eye look - maybe for night time.  And if you've read my post on MAC Woodwinked, you'll know that it's one of my other all time favourites, so I thought I'd combine them!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum VS Healthy Mix Foundation

Sunday 21 October 2012

When looking for a highstreet/drugstore foundation a while ago, I noticed that the beauty blogger world was loving the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation & Serum.  I knew that the formulas were different but, I wasn't sure what would be best for my skin - especially as I'd read several reviews that disputed which was which for skin types.  But having tried and tested them both, my conclusion is that - it depends on the skin care and/or primer you use before you apply the foundation that affects which suits you.  However, overall my preference out of both of these is the Healthy Mix Foundation.

Healthy Mix Foundation - £9.99

Hey guys, I have another little ebay sale on the go just now, so just thought I'd do a quick post in case any of you are interested! I am only shipping within the UK though.  And everything is cheap so you can't go wrong with that!

OOTN & MOTN - Blogger Pub Quiz

Friday 19 October 2012

Last night I went to the Blogger Pub Quiz in Glasgow, hosted by the lovely Paula.  It was great, and so nice to meet other Scottish Bloggers.  The team I was in won the quiz, so yay!  I got vouchers for the Red Onion restaurant which looks amazing (I've been on their website and had a peek!), so I'm excited to go there and have a nice meal - I just need to find a date...any takers? The only condition is that I'll be there...

Any way on to what I wore!

MAC Eyeshadow - Club

Thursday 18 October 2012

I've had this colour for a while,  and sadly I'll admit I have barely used it.  I think because I have so many MAC eyeshadows, and other eyeshadows, a lot of my really gorgeous colours don't get used enough.  I definitely know I don't use this enough, because it's beautiful and barely touched!

Nivea Lip Butter - Caramel Cream

Monday 15 October 2012

I found this in Superdrug last week while I was looking for a new lip balm.  I stumbled across this Nivea Lip Butter, and I have to say, I've honestly never seen them before! It comes in three scents - Original, Raspberry Rose and Caramel Cream.  I didn't smell the 'original' one because I quite like scented lip balms.  Raspberry Rose is gorgeous and sweetly fruity, but I was drawn to the Caramel Cream one because it smells exactly like Butterkist toffee popcorn.  It's amazing, I just sit and smell it.

Millie MacKintosh False Eyelashes

Sunday 14 October 2012

I'm a lover of false eyelashes.  But, I've always been drawn to the ones that are quite natural and just enhance my own eyelashes.  When Millie MacKintosh launched her range of lashes, I was so excited, because every single one of them is gorgeous.  For my first order I chose two different kinds.  I decided to try Portobello and Camden, they are so different but I love them both!

NYX Blush Haul

Saturday 13 October 2012

When I was getting ready to go on holiday I realised that I didn't really have any individually packaged blushes - because most of the ones I use are from my MAC palette.  So I had looked at some when I was in duty free, but none of the high-end ones really truly caught my eye.  And on my list of things to try were the NYX blushes.  I already own two of their mega-shine lipglosses and a jumbo eye pencil, all of which are amazing quality, and I'd heard really good things about their blushes.  I'm definitely not disappointed with the ones I chose!

The three colours I chose are Terracotta (on the recommendation from Essiebutton's favourite Autumn Blushes), Spice and Taupe.  I plan to use taupe as a contour.  I usually use my Chanel Soleil de Tan or Benefit Hoola bronzer as contour - but I don't really like to use bronzer in Winter, because I think it just looks really unnatural.

Gun Metal Eyes

Friday 12 October 2012

I haven't done a going out makeup look for a while, or well at least it feels that way!  I decided to use some of the new makeup I bought when I was on holiday, really I just wanted to play with it!

How Much is My Face Worth? #Tag

Thursday 11 October 2012

I'll be honest and say I've been purposely putting this off.  I already know that my end figure is going to be disgustingly high (and at this point I haven't calculated it).  Also, everyday, I change up my makeup.  I don't consistently use a specific foundation or concealer, or have an "everyday face".  I just do what I feel like while I'm doing it - not really thinking about the products I'm using too much - other than choosing a base that will work for my skin that day.  So I have tried to be honest, and just do my makeup like I would any other day - without taking into consideration the products I'm using - otherwise I would end up purposely choosing my cheaper/highstreet products, just to get a smaller number.  So anyway - here we go...

OPI Diva Of Geneva

Wednesday 10 October 2012

I bought this shade in duty free on the way to Spain (check out my last post on all my duty free goodies!).  I have been drawn to berry shades recently.  They are so in this season, and I've been loving them for lip colours, clothes and nails!  OPI has so many gorgeous shades in that category (they have millions in every category!) but I was drawn to Diva Of Geneva because it's more of a purplish berry tone, rather than burgundy or red - so I thought it was a bit different.

What I Bought in Duty Free

Tuesday 9 October 2012

Most of the time when I go on Holiday, I plan to buy my favourite perfume in duty free.  I always buy the biggest bottle and it lasts me about two years, so I can justify the price of it anyway because it is expensive.  My favourite perfume is Miss Dior, and I have been using the one I already had less because I was running low.  I was going to get my sister to buy me it when she went to Ibiza because I wasn't supposed to be going away this year.  But, because I ended up going away I waited to get it myself.  I honestly love this perfume so much! I'm going to keep this one in the box just now because now I can finish my old bottle!

I'm Home!

Monday 8 October 2012

Hello Lovelies!

I just wanted to put a quick post together with some photos from my holiday on it and tell you what I got up to while I was away.  And if you liked my two scheduled posts I'm glad!

What's in my Travel Makeup bag?

Wednesday 3 October 2012

I was going to try and take minimal makeup with me on holiday, especially because I plan on buying some in duty free at the airport.  When I photographed it all it looked like a LOT, but then I realised that in the grand scheme of all of my makeup, this is actually only a small amount! I probably wont use it all either, but you never know what you'll feel like wearing.  I've linked any reviews to products I've included - anyway on to what I'm taking!

My Travel Beauty Essentials

Monday 1 October 2012

I'm in Spain right now! (well I'm not but I will be when the post goes live!).  I wanted to do a post on all of the Beauty Essentials that I take on Holiday with me, so here it is.  I am going to do a travel Makeup Bag Post too, so if you're only interested to see the makeup, that post will be up soon!

I bought some of the travel size makeup containers for £1.00 from Primark, because I'm only going for a week I didn't want to take too many massive products with me.
